Head of HR

Location: North Coast area, Northern Ireland

(Hybrid working available, 3-4 days in office)
Contract Type: Interim (6 months, with potential for extension)

Salary/day rate: Competitive

Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible

About the Opportunity:
A well-established, local business is seeking an experienced Head of HR to provide strong leadership and hands-on HR support. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, values-driven environment, working closely with the senior leadership team and wider business across a multi-site workforce.

This interim position requires a confident and capable HR professional with the ability to lead day-to-day HR operations whilst helping the business agree strategic initiatives. You'll act as a key advisor across the business, ensuring HR practices align with organisational goals and comply with legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development and execution of people strategies that support business objectives
  • Partnering with leadership across functions to provide strategic and tactical HR support
  • Managing end-to-end recruitment, workforce planning, and talent pipelining
  • Shaping and enhancing the organisation's employer brand and employee value proposition
  • Supporting cultural change, engagement, and performance development across all sites

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience at HR Business Partner or HR Manager level
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong ability to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives
  • Experience in employee relations, including collective consultation and negotiation
  • A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
  • Talent management and succession planning expertise
  • Experience developing a high-performance culture and impactful employee experience
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to juggle competing priorities
  • A minimum CIPD qualification
