As active contributors to the FinOps Foundation and pioneers in the BillOps space, they're now scaling a world-class engineering function. These hires are critical to establishing their new UK/Northern Ireland engineering base.
The Role
This is a rare chance to become one of the first senior engineers in a newly formed UK/Northern Ireland delivery team. Whether your strength lies in Golang/Kubernetes or Python-based systems, your work will shape the next-gen backend of a global-scale, data-intensive cloud platform.
You'll operate in a fully remote, high-autonomy environment alongside top-tier engineers across the US and UK. Your focus will be on building scalable APIs, distributed microservices, and backend infrastructure that powers cloud intelligence at scale.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and build cloud-native services using Golang or Python
* Develop scalable microservices and distributed systems
* Build robust APIs (REST/GraphQL) and high-throughput backend components
* Collaborate with fronted engineers (Vue.js) and data platform teams (Snowflake, Airflow)
* Shape CI/CD pipelines and observability practices
* Influence technical direction and architectural decisions
* Contribute to a high-feedback, asynchronous team culture
Essential Criteria
* 8-10+ years in software engineering, preferably in cloud-first or SaaS companies
* Strong backend development experience with either:
Golang, ideally with experience in Kubernetes-based systems
* Proven experience in distributed systems and asynchronous architecture
* Familiarity with scalable API development (REST/GraphQL)
* Strong understanding of CI/CD and monitoring/logging best practices
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills
* Comfortable working in remote, distributed teams
Bonus Points For
* Experience with Snowflake, DBT, or Airflow
* Background in FinOps, cloud cost tooling, or analytics products
* Exposure to time-series data, cost insights, or ML-powered backend systems
* Experience building platforms across multi-cloud or hybrid environments
