Junior Site Reliability Engineer (AWS)
UK - Remote | Full-time

Ocho are searching for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer with a passion for AWS and automation. This is the perfect role for someone with around 2 years' experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Infrastructure who's ready to learn from experienced engineers, sharpen their skills, and work on projects that really make an impact.

Day to day:

  • Help build and maintain secure, scalable AWS environments.
  • Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible) to automate deployments.
  • Assist in setting up monitoring and alerting with CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Support incident response and troubleshooting (with guidance from senior team members).
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins).
  • Learn and apply AWS security and IAM best practices.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and security teams to keep systems reliable and fast.

Experience:

  • Around 2 years' experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud, or Infrastructure roles.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Some scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud security principles.
  • Curiosity, a problem-solving mindset, and great communication skills.
