Hours: 14:00 - 22:45

Ocho are proud to be partnering with one of Northern Ireland's most successful home-grown businesses to recruit a Mid Shift Operations Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations professional to join a thriving, people-focused organisation and take responsibility for a key shift within a fast-paced warehouse operation.

As Mid Shift Operations Manager, you will oversee the afternoon and evening shift, leading a team of Warehouse Supervisors and around 40 operatives across multiple temperature-controlled zones. You'll ensure all core activities, including picking, loading, replenishment and dispatch, are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to performance management and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the mid shift, ensuring tasks are completed on time, safely, and in full.

  • Lead, motivate and support Warehouse Supervisors to drive productivity and engagement.

  • Monitor KPIs and operational performance, reporting progress to senior management.

  • Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety standards and company policies.

  • Collaborate with other shift managers to ensure smooth handovers and operational continuity.

  • Identify training and development needs within the team.

  • Investigate operational issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Ensure stock movements are accurately recorded and discrepancies resolved quickly.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, ideally in a managerial or senior supervisory role.

  • Proven ability to lead large teams across multiple operational areas.

  • Strong understanding of warehouse systems, processes and KPIs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a hands-on leadership style.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance standards.

  • Ability to remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure.

Desirable

  • Relevant certifications (forklift licence, first aid, Health & Safety).

  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
