Senior Data Engineer
Hybrid Belfast based (2-3 days onsite)
Up to £60,000 salary
We are working with a major global consultancy with a long established Belfast data practice. The team delivers large scale data engineering, analytics and automation solutions for high profile clients across multiple sectors. They are now expanding and seeking a Senior Data Engineer who enjoys working across modern cloud data platforms, SQL development, automation and analytics enablement.
This role suits someone who is proactive, technically curious and comfortable working across both data engineering and analytical workflows. You'll have the opportunity to design and build ETL pipelines, shape cloud based data solutions, collaborate with architects and analysts, and help clients get meaningful value from their data.
Key responsibilities
Design, build and maintain ETL pipelines across Azure cloud environments.
Develop scalable data models and SQL based solutions for reporting and analytics.
Use Azure Data Factory, Data Lake and related services to support data flows.
Build automation using tools such as Power Automate and Power Apps.
Support dashboarding and BI needs through Power BI.
Contribute to data quality, documentation and best practices.
Work closely with clients, analysts and architects on solution design.
Required experience
Strong SQL development and data modelling skills.
Hands on experience with Azure (ADF, Data Lake, Databricks or similar).
Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud native data workflows.
Good understanding of Power BI and analytics enablement.
Exposure to Power Apps or Power Automate is beneficial.
Some experience with Python for scripting or data pipelines.
Clear communicator with a proactive, learning focused mindset.
