Senior DevOps Engineer

Job description.

We're working with an innovative, cloud-native technology client delivering mission-critical platforms used by large, regulated organisations. Their products operate at scale, demand high availability, and place a strong emphasis on security, resilience, and performance.

This is a hands-on Senior DevOps role where you'll take ownership of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and platform reliability, helping shape DevOps best practices as the organisation continues to scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, embedding security and quality controls to support reliable delivery at scale.
  • Design and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (CDK / CloudFormation).
  • Build and operate monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to support 99.99% uptime targets.
  • Lead the migration of containerised workloads into ECS, improving scalability and resilience.
  • Support the transition from a monolithic platform towards an event-driven microservices architecture.
  • Automate operational tasks, reduce manual overhead, and proactively troubleshoot platform issues.
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient delivery.

Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or similar roles.
  • Strong experience in AWS, cloud-native architectures, and Infrastructure as Code (ideally CDK in TypeScript).
  • Solid background with Docker, ECS, and modern container platforms.
  • Proven experience embedding security best practices into DevOps pipelines and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, Git-based workflows, and Agile/DevOps ways of working.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments and contributing to architectural change.
  • Confident communicator, able to collaborate across teams and mentor others.

What's on offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Strong focus on learning, development, and career progression
  • Private health cover and wellbeing benefits
  • Hybrid working and modern tooling
