Software Engineer (.NET)
We are working with an elite engineering organisation in Belfast to hire a mid-level Software Engineer to join a highly respected .NET development team. This is a rare opportunity to work on a complex, mission-critical platform used at scale, where engineering quality, system reliability and technical depth genuinely matter.
You'll be joining a team that operates in demanding, data-intensive environments and values curiosity, ownership and continuous improvement. The role offers strong exposure to distributed systems, APIs and platform engineering, alongside experienced engineers who set a very high technical bar.
The Role
Build and evolve robust software solutions using .NET and C#
Contribute to the design and extension of APIs and backend services
Analyse and resolve issues across user-facing systems, services and data layers
Develop configurable API solutions tailored to client and platform requirements
Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure and support teams to resolve complex technical issues
Participate in technical knowledge-sharing and architecture discussions
Support client integrations and platform onboarding activities
Contribute to platform stability, performance and software quality initiatives
Engage with end users where required to clarify requirements and deliver practical solutions
The Person
3+ years of commercial software engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience with .NET and C#
Demonstrable debugging and problem-solving skills in live systems
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent professional experience
Comfortable developing in Windows-based environments
Experience working on complex, data-heavy or transaction-driven systems is beneficial
Exposure to system integrations, messaging or API-driven architectures is advantageous
Self-motivated, organised and comfortable owning work end to end
Strong communication skills with a professional and collaborative mindset

Development Tooling: Visual Studio and modern source control
Languages and Frameworks: C#, WPF, Python, PowerShell
APIs and Data: RESTful services, relational databases, search and analytics platforms
