Senior Front End Engineer ( AWS )

Job description.

Front End Engineer

Build Products Used Across a Global Industry

Location: Remote UK based
Contract: Permanent Full time
Contact: Ryan Quinn on LinkedIn
Company: OCHO Building Teams

The Opportunity

We are working with a genuinely outstanding cloud native product company that is transforming a global industry which has historically been underserved by modern software. Their platform is already used at scale across North America and the business continues to grow rapidly from its engineering hub in Northern Ireland.

This is not consultancy work, internal tooling, or feature churn. This is real product engineering with real users, real scale, and real technical ownership.

As a Front End Engineer, you will join a small, highly capable product team where quality, clarity, and delivery matter. You will have autonomy, influence over technical decisions, and the space to do your best work without unnecessary process or politics.

The Engineering Team in NI

This is a tight knit group of experienced engineers and product thinkers who care deeply about what they build and how they build it. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in trust.

People stay here because they are treated like adults, given ownership, and encouraged to grow. You will work with engineers who care about clean code, good architecture, and shipping software that genuinely helps users do their jobs better.

What You Will Be Doing

  • You will design, build, test, and ship high quality front end features used by customers every day.
  • You will take ownership of problems from discovery through to delivery.
  • You will collaborate closely with product, backend engineers, and designers to shape solutions rather than just implement tickets.
  • You will write clean, maintainable code supported by meaningful automated tests.
  • You will review code, contribute to shared standards, and help raise the bar for front end quality across the team.
  • You will break down complex requirements into clear, achievable work and communicate progress openly.
  • You will continuously improve how the team works while contributing positively to team culture.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • You care about building good software and being a good teammate.
  • You bring humility, curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership.
  • You have professional experience with JavaScript or another structured language such as Python, Java, or C#.
  • You have worked with at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React or Vue.

Desirable

  • Experience working in Agile product teams.
  • A strong approach to problem solving and breaking down complexity.
  • Solid understanding of automated testing including unit and integration tests.
  • Good communication skills and emotional intelligence.

Nice to Have

  • Hands on experience with React or React Native.
  • Exposure to Python, PostgreSQL, or AWS.
  • Five or more years of commercial development experience.
  • Any background path including university, bootcamp, or self taught.

What Is On Offer

  • Remote first working with flexibility around hours.
  • Dedicated weekly time for learning and personal development.
  • Wellbeing benefits including gym membership and family dinner allowances.
  • High quality hardware and your choice of setup including Mac, Linux, or PC with a curved monitor.

Why This Role Stands Out

This is one of the strongest product engineering environments in Northern Ireland today. The company has an excellent record for retention, internal progression, and long term technical investment.

You will work on meaningful software, with capable people, in a business that genuinely values its engineers. If you want autonomy, technical influence, and the chance to build products that matter, this is a rare opportunity.
