Senior Data Engineer

Overview
Ocho is delighted to be working on behalf of our client to appoint a Senior Data Engineer to join a critical Trade Surveillance Technology function.

This team is responsible for ingesting and processing all trade and order activity across the business to detect potential market abuse. It is a regulatory-critical function with strong focus on data completeness, controls and quality.

A major data controls programme is nearing completion, with consultants rolling off in the coming months. This hire is key to building permanent internal capability and ensuring successful knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities
Own and enhance data pipelines feeding surveillance platforms
Ensure data completeness and reconciliation across 45+ upstream systems
Implement and monitor robust data controls within AWS-hosted environments
Work across trade and order data sets covering multiple asset classes
Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA and engineering teams to maintain regulatory-grade systems
Contribute to the evolution of surveillance data models and regulatory frameworks

The Person We Are Looking For
Strong experience designing and owning data pipelines in cloud environments
Advanced SQL skills and strong AWS experience
Exposure to financial markets data and trade/order systems
Experience with regulatory or surveillance environments highly desirable
Ability to work across complex distributed systems and evolving regulatory requirements
Strong stakeholder engagement skills

Salary
Up to £65,000
