The Role:
This is an opportunity for a Backend Developer to join a high-performing engineering team solving complex, large-scale challenges in cloud security and distributed systems.
You will work across the full software development lifecycle, building and optimising backend services that power a modern, cloud-native platform. The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural input, offering exposure to high-scale systems, real-time data processing, and cutting-edge infrastructure technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and deploy backend services across the full project lifecycle (build → deploy → monitor → maintain)
* Analyse and optimise performance and reliability of backend systems (primarily Golang / Java)
* Contribute to system architecture, including capacity planning and defining SLOs
* Build and maintain scalable, data-intensive systems (databases, messaging systems, event-driven architectures)
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Frontend, DevOps, and Product
* Participate in design discussions and conduct code reviews to ensure engineering excellence
Essential Criteria:
* 3+ years of backend engineering experience using a high-level language (ideally Golang and/or Java)
* Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
* Strong understanding of distributed systems and data-intensive applications
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
* Familiarity with microservices architecture
* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
