The Role
This is a Lead UI Engineering role within a high-performing frontend team building modern React and Next.js applications across a range of enterprise digital products.
You'll lead frontend delivery, mentor engineers, collaborate closely with UX and backend teams, and help shape frontend standards, tooling, and engineering culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead frontend engineering across React and Next.js applications
- Build scalable, accessible, and performant UI solutions
- Mentor frontend engineers and lead code reviews
- Collaborate with UX and product teams on modern digital experiences
- Drive frontend architecture, standards, and reusable component strategies
- Improve frontend testing, performance, and maintainability practices
- Contribute to delivery planning and technical decision-making
What You'll Need
Essential
- Strong commercial React and Next.js experience
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript expertise
- Experience leading frontend delivery or mentoring engineers
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design
- Experience building scalable frontend architectures and component libraries
- Nice to Have
- Accessibility and performance optimisation experience
- Design systems exposure
- Experience working within cloud-native engineering teams
