The Role
This is a senior engineering position for someone who wants architectural influence, technical ownership, and the opportunity to shape how a platform evolves at scale. You'll join a platform engineering team responsible for systems that directly underpin global product delivery, working across the full stack with modern tooling and cloud-native infrastructure. The expectation at this level is clear: strong fundamentals, clean architecture, and confident decision-making. You will operate as a senior individual contributor with meaningful influence over design, quality, and technical standards - without heavy management layers getting in the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evolve core platform systems with scalability and long-term maintainability in mind
- Deliver full-stack features using TypeScript / Node.js on the backend and React / Next.js on the frontend
- Architect and deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS across application and infrastructure layers
- Define and manage infrastructure through Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices
- Own CI/CD pipelines and release processes end to end
- Apply test-driven development and strong automated testing principles throughout delivery
- Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform direction
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across the full stack
- Collaborate closely with product and delivery stakeholders to shape technical solutions
What You'll Need
Essential
- Strong commercial experience as a Software Engineer at senior level
- Deep experience with JavaScript / TypeScript, particularly in Node.js environments
- Strong frontend capability using React and Next.js
- Hands-on AWS experience across application deployment and infrastructure
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code - ideally Terraform
- Solid database fundamentals across relational and NoSQL (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB or similar)
- Proven experience operating within modern CI/CD environments
- Clear understanding of scalable system design and cloud-native architecture
- Right to work in the UK
Nice to Have
- Experience writing backends in Rust
- Exposure to AI-powered developer tooling and agentic workflows
- Background in platform, SaaS, or product-led businesses
