The Role
As a Principal Platform Architect you'll lead the architecture and delivery of complex cloud platform programmes worth tens of millions, working across public sector and defence accounts. You'll establish architectural principles, define strategic direction, contribute to bids and pre-sales, and act as a trusted technology advisor to C-suite and board-level stakeholders.
You'll play a leading role in shaping the direction of the Platforms capability, developing blueprints and standards, identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts, and mentoring the next generation of platform architects.
What You'll Need
- Proven ownership of large-scale, complex cloud transformation programmes, responsible for strategy, delivery, stakeholder engagement, and customer outcomes at programme values of tens of millions
- AWS as your primary cloud platform, with Azure and/or GCP exposure, strong systems thinking and architectural leadership valued over deep platform specialism
- A consultancy background with demonstrable experience in pre-sales, bid support, and commercial solution shaping
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with and influence C-suite and board-level stakeholders, driving strategic technology decisions
- A track record of identifying and developing account growth opportunities alongside sales and account teams
- Experience managing, coaching, and developing engineering teams and architectural communities

- Proven experience in a delivery-led consulting organisation where commercial ownership, bid contribution, and account relationships are part of the day job.
- Pure hyperscaler or product company backgrounds are less likely to fit without demonstrable consulting and commercial experience alongside strong technical credentials.
- Defence sector experience is desirable but not essential - candidates must be willing to work on Defence-related projects if required.
Nice to Have
- SC clearance or willingness to undergo clearance
- Contribution to technology communities, speaking, or publishing
- Experience recovering challenging programmes and bringing them back on track
- GCP exposure alongside AWS and Azure
Package

- Hybrid/Remote - Belfast based
- 35 days annual leave inc stat
- Enhanced pension scheme

Who You Are
You're as comfortable presenting to a CTO as you are whiteboarding with an engineering team. You think commercially, lead with integrity, and have the credibility and gravitas to represent a technology practice at the highest levels. You thrive in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and know how to turn delivery success into long-term account relationships.
