The opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing technology company based in Belfast, operating in high-assurance and regulated environments. The business is scaling quickly and the infrastructure team sits at the heart of how its platform is built, secured, and delivered.
This is a hands-on platform engineering role for someone who wants real ownership. You will work across connected and disconnected environments, with a particular focus on Kubernetes and secure-by-design infrastructure. If you want to do meaningful work on infrastructure that genuinely matters, this is the role.
What you will own
- Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters across connected and air-gapped environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines designed to function in constrained and disconnected environments.
- Own infrastructure as code across the estate, keeping environments reproducible, auditable, and well documented.
- Monitor and improve platform reliability, identifying and resolving issues before they become incidents.
- Contribute to security hardening, access controls, and compliance evidence across the infrastructure estate.
- Work closely with engineering teams to support deployments into regulated and high-assurance environments.
- Support the broader team with tooling, automation, and platform guidance.
Essential
- At least five years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or systems engineering role.
- Strong, hands-on Kubernetes experience including cluster management, networking, and production troubleshooting.
- Experience working in or supporting air-gapped or disconnected environments.
- Infrastructure as code experience using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
- Solid scripting ability in Python, Bash, or similar.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and deployment pipelines in security-conscious environments.
- Eligibility to obtain UK SC clearance (residency and nationality requirements apply).
Desirable
- Experience with container registries, image signing, and supply chain security in air-gapped contexts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) alongside on-premise or edge deployments.
- Experience in regulated, high-assurance, or government environments.
- Observability tooling experience such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
Package
- Up to £100k salary, depending on experience.
- 25 days' annual leave plus UK public bank holidays.
- Employer pension contribution with salary sacrifice available.
- Private medical insurance covering inpatient and outpatient care, diagnostics, mental health, and cancer care.
- Death in service cover at 4x annual salary.
- Access to cutting-edge AI tools as core working instruments.
- EMI share options in a rapidly growing scale-up.
