About the Company
Our client is a cutting-edge AI technology business founded by a team of Stanford graduates with a clear and ambitious mission: to transform how enterprises use data to make critical business decisions. Their platform combines advanced machine learning, real-time analytics, and intelligent automation to surface insights that drive measurable commercial outcomes for some of the world's most complex organisations. Having established a growing engineering presence in Northern Ireland through a strategic FDI programme, they are now expanding that team further. This is a rare opportunity to join a business at an inflection point, working on technology that is genuinely pushing the boundaries of what AI can do in an enterprise context.
The Role
As Lead Full Stack Engineer you will play a central role in shaping and delivering the next evolution of an AI-powered decision intelligence platform. Working across the full stack, you will lead the technical specification and delivery of complex features, collaborating closely with data scientists, product managers, and fellow engineers to bring sophisticated AI capabilities to life through intuitive, high-performance software. You will set the engineering standard for the Northern Ireland team, contribute to architectural decisions at a global level, and help build a culture of technical excellence in a team that is still early enough to be genuinely shaped by the people who join it.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the technical specification and delivery of full stack features across an AI-powered enterprise platform
• Architect scalable, maintainable full stack solutions using Python and AWS, with performance-critical components in Rust where appropriate
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into production software
• Drive engineering best practices across the Northern Ireland team, setting standards for code quality, testing, and technical documentation
• Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives, from requirements through to deployment and ongoing iteration
• Mentor and develop engineers within the local team, contributing to a culture of learning and continuous improvement
• Contribute to global architectural decisions in close collaboration with the wider engineering leadership team
What You'll Need
Essential:
• 7+ years of professional full stack software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on Python development experience in production environments
• Deep experience with AWS and cloud-native application architecture
• Proven experience leading technical specification and delivery of complex software features
• Comfortable working in an AI-first engineering environment alongside data science and ML teams
• Must reside in Northern Ireland and hold the right to work in the UK
Desirable / Nice to Have:
• Any exposure to Rust, even at a hobbyist or exploratory level
• Experience working on analytics, business intelligence, or decision-support platforms
Why Apply?
• Salary up to £110,000 depending on experience
• Fully remote working for Northern Ireland-based engineers
• Exclusive FDI opportunity... Ocho People have already placed the first four members of this NI team and know this client and culture inside out
• Work on genuinely advanced AI technology built by a Stanford-founded team with serious academic and commercial pedigree
• Join a local NI team that is still small enough to be shaped by the people in it, with global reach and ambition behind it
• Lead-level ownership and influence over both local engineering culture and global architectural direction
