Principal Software Architect – Remote
The Opportunity
Ocho is partnering with a fast-scaling, product-led Client to find a Principal Software Architect to help lead the design and evolution of their new platform.
You’ll play a pivotal role in translating business and engineering strategy into cohesive, scalable, and secure architecture, helping to lead the evolution of their APIs, gateway, and switch platforms with modern, cloud-first thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the enterprise architecture vision and technology roadmap
- Design and lead strategic technical initiatives across platform, API, and payments infrastructure
- Oversee the architecture of a real-time, resilient network
- Collaborate with engineering and leadership teams to drive adoption of architectural standards
- Participate in hands-on development when needed to validate design direction
- Lead architectural documentation, strategy definition, and coaching across teams
Essential Experience
- 10+ years in software design and development (ideally with .NET or Java platforms)
- Extensive experience designing SaaS applications and enterprise APIs
- Deep understanding of software architecture principles, systems integration, and scalable infrastructure
- Experience with high-availability, real-time applications
- Ability to communicate technical strategy to both engineers and senior stakeholders
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience in an enterprise setting
