About Our Client

Ocho People are proud to be partnering with a rapidly scaling cloud cybersecurity business at the cutting edge of the industry. Our client has built a cloud-native security platform that protects enterprise organisations across multi-cloud environments, containerised workloads, and hybrid architectures — giving security teams real-time visibility and automated protection without slowing down engineering velocity. Backed by tier-one investors and trusted by enterprise clients across financial services, technology, and critical infrastructure, the business has achieved significant ARR milestones and is scaling fast. The engineering team is small, senior, and high-calibre — and the Cloud Engineer they hire will have a direct and lasting impact on how the platform is built and operated at scale.

The Role

This is a hands-on Cloud Engineering role for someone who wants to own the infrastructure layer of a production security platform — not inherit someone else’s technical debt. You will work closely with the platform, product, and security engineering teams to design and build the cloud environments, networking, and deployment infrastructure that the product runs on. The role spans everything from cloud architecture and IaC to CI/CD pipeline optimisation and cost efficiency, and you will have a direct voice in how infrastructure decisions are made as the company scales. If you are energised by building reliable systems in a security-first environment and want your engineering decisions to matter, this is the right move.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate scalable, secure cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, or Azure to support a production cybersecurity platform

Own infrastructure-as-code across all environments, driving consistency, repeatability, and auditability using Terraform or Pulumi

Build and maintain secure, multi-tenant cloud architecture that meets the exacting requirements of enterprise security customers

Manage and evolve containerised workload infrastructure using Kubernetes, including cluster operations, networking, and scaling

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, safe, and auditable software delivery across engineering teams

Implement and enforce cloud security best practices — IAM policies, network segmentation, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation

Build observability and reliability frameworks across the platform, including monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response runbooks

Collaborate with security engineers to ensure the platform’s own cloud posture meets the standards the product promises to customers

Drive cloud cost optimisation without compromising performance, reliability, or security

Contribute to engineering culture through documentation, knowledge sharing, and participation in architecture reviews

What You’ll Need

Essential

4+ years’ experience in a Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps role at production scale

Deep hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud provider — AWS, GCP, or Azure — including networking, IAM, and security controls

Strong infrastructure-as-code proficiency with Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation

Solid Kubernetes experience including cluster management, workload orchestration, networking, and day-two operations

Experience building and maintaining secure, multi-tenant cloud environments

Familiarity with cloud security fundamentals — network segmentation, least-privilege IAM, secrets management, and compliance frameworks

Proficiency in at least one scripting language — Python, Bash, or Go

Right to work in the USA without restriction; East Coast timezone alignment required

Desirable / Nice to Have

Experience building cloud infrastructure for a cybersecurity or security software product

Knowledge of eBPF, runtime security tooling, or cloud-native threat detection at the infrastructure layer

Relevant cloud or security certifications — AWS Security Specialty, CKS, CCSP, or equivalent

Background at a high-growth Series A–C software or security company

Why Apply?

Base salary $140,000–$175,000 depending on experience, plus meaningful equity in a fast-growing security business

Remote-first with East Coast timezone alignment — work from anywhere up and down the East Coast

Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match

Greenfield infrastructure — build it properly from the start rather than inherit someone else’s architecture

Security-first engineering culture where cloud posture is taken as seriously internally as it is in the product

Small, senior engineering team where your decisions carry real weight

Clear progression path into Staff Engineer or Principal Cloud Architect as the team scales
