About the Company

Our client is a modern, cloud-native digital consultancy known for exceptional engineering, composable commerce solutions and data-driven digital experiences. Around 50 people strong and growing, the business operates remote-first with co-working hubs in Belfast and London. They work across a range of client projects spanning complex, multi-component system landscapes, and have built a genuinely supportive, high-calibre engineering culture.

The Role

This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced QA Engineer to join a growing Quality Assurance function at the heart of a fast-scaling consultancy. You'll work closely with developers, product managers, business analysts and DevOps teams, verifying functionality, validating integrations and holding the line on quality across intricate system landscapes. It's a role for someone who takes genuine pride in meticulous testing, understands how systems interact end-to-end, and wants to help embed a quality-first culture throughout the development lifecycle. You'll have real autonomy in shaping test strategy and process improvements, not just executing test scripts.

Key Responsibilities

Create structured, comprehensive manual test cases from business requirements and user stories

Execute functional, UI, integration and regression test cases

Validate new features and bug fixes against acceptance criteria

Determine regression scope and run regression cycles during releases

Conduct end-to-end integration testing across multi-component systems

Test APIs, data flows and third-party integrations to confirm correct behaviour and data exchange

Identify, document and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve integration issues

Assess quality impact of system changes alongside cross-functional teams

Contribute quality-focused insights during sprint ceremonies

Provide clear, timely feedback on release readiness and quality risks

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • NI based

5+ years' experience in manual software testing

Strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practice

Proven integration testing experience in complex, multi-component systems

Technical understanding of software architecture, APIs and databases

Hands-on experience with tools such as Postman, Jira (or equivalents) and BrowserStack (or equivalents)

Experience in e-commerce or similarly dynamic environments

        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Clear, precise communication across technical and non-technical teams

Ability to write detailed, structured test cases and defect reports

Solid understanding of SDLC and agile delivery

Desirable / Nice to Have:

        ISTQB or similar certification

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

        Exposure to API automation fundamentals

Why Apply?

Salary of £50,000 to £70,000, dependent on experience

Remote-first working, with access to co-working hubs in Belfast and further UK locations

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

        Pension matched up to 8%

Bupa private healthcare and health assessments

Share options under an HMRC-approved EMI scheme

Training and professional development budget, plus high-spec home-office equipment

Genuine autonomy to shape QA process and maturity within a scaling, quality-first engineering culture
