Who You'll Work For

Our client is a specialist consultancy operating at the forefront of precision medicine research. Based in Belfast, they work at the intersection of science and technology, building the cloud-based platforms and digital infrastructure that underpin their mission to bring better, safer medical solutions to market. It's a business where the technology genuinely matters, engineers have real influence, and the work you ship has a direct impact on outcomes that count.

What You'll Be Doing

As Senior Software Engineer, you'll be a central figure in the team — designing, building and maintaining high-performance, cloud-based applications using .NET (C#), .NET Core and Azure. You'll get stuck into the full lifecycle: from contributing to architectural decisions on new projects to debugging and optimising existing systems. You'll manage and design MS SQL Server databases, implement Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, Storage, DevOps), and participate in code reviews that keep the team's standards high.

Your Impact

In this role, you won't just be shipping code — you'll be shaping how a growing, mission-driven business builds its technology. Your architectural input will influence products used in precision medicine research, your mentorship will raise the capability of the wider team, and your stakeholder relationships will ensure the software function is embedded at the heart of the business.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Senior Software Developer role
  • Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience in software development
  • Strong hands-on experience with .NET (C# / .NET Core)
  • Proficiency in Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, Storage)
  • Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular or React)
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and API development
  • Ability to design and manage MS SQL Server databases
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Previous experience mentoring junior developers
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Able to work flexibly, travel as required (including European/global), with a valid passport and full driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience with Azure DevOps / DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Commercial software development background
  • Interest in and understanding of AI architecture
  • Some experience with PHP and Symfony

What's In It For You

  • A competitive salary based on your experience
  • The chance to work on technology that directly supports precision medicine research
  • Real influence over architectural and design decisions
  • A collaborative, expert team with genuine mentorship opportunities
  • A role at the intersection of cutting-edge cloud engineering and regulated AI development
