About the Company
Our client is a progressive, ambitious mid-sized accountancy practice based in the Greater Belfast area, with a strong and growing reputation across tax, audit and advisory services. With a diverse and loyal client base spanning owner-managed businesses, high net worth individuals and corporate groups, this is a firm that invests in its people, values technical excellence and offers the kind of varied, challenging work that larger practices rarely can.

The Role

This is a Tax Senior position within a well-regarded and expanding tax team, covering a genuinely mixed portfolio of personal and corporate tax work across a broad range of client types and sectors. You will take ownership of your client relationships, manage a varied and interesting caseload and play an active role in supporting the junior members of the team around you. This is a role for a technically strong, commercially aware tax professional who thrives on variety and wants to work in an environment where their contribution is recognised and rewarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a mixed portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients from start to finish
  • Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns for a range of entities
  • Manage personal tax compliance including self-assessment returns for high net worth individuals, directors and sole traders
  • Support planning and advisory work across a range of tax specialisms including capital gains, inheritance tax, property taxation and employment taxes
  • Assist clients with VAT matters, PAYE compliance and other indirect tax issues
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact across tax matters
  • Support and review the work of junior tax staff
  • Identify opportunities to add value within the existing client base

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (part-qualified considered for strong candidates)
  • Broad mixed tax experience across personal and corporate tax at Senior level
  • Solid technical knowledge spanning multiple tax specialisms including CGT, IHT, VAT and employment taxes
  • Confident managing client relationships and communicating complex tax issues clearly
  • Right to work in Northern Ireland

Desirable:

  • Experience in a mid-tier or regional accountancy practice
  • Exposure to tax advisory and planning work beyond compliance
  • Experience supporting or reviewing junior staff

Why Apply

  • Competitive Senior level salary negotiable on experience
  • Genuine autonomy over your client portfolio
  • Broad and varied work across multiple tax specialisms
  • A progressive firm that values technical expertise and rewards ambition
  • Supportive, collaborative team culture with real investment in development
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
