AI Engineer
- Senior AI Engineering role at a globally recognised technology consultancy
- Production GenAI and ML delivery integrated with SAP, Oracle and major cloud platforms
- Hybrid working with UK-wide and international client engagement
- Salary £80,000 to £100,000
- UK work authorisation required
About the Company
Our client is a well-established global technology consultancy with a fast-growing AI and Data practice, delivering production AI for some of the world's largest organisations across manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, retail and the public sector. With deep partnerships with SAP and every major hyperscaler, a funded certification budget and a clear path to AI Architect or practice leadership, this is a business where ambitious AI engineers can do genuinely impactful work.
The Role
This is not a pilot project role. You will design and ship production AI that plugs directly into the SAP, Oracle and cloud platforms that global clients rely on every day. Working in a cross-functional pod alongside data engineers, cloud architects and SAP consultants, you will take GenAI and ML solutions from proof of value to production, build RAG and agentic workflows over real enterprise data, and set up MLOps pipelines that cut release cycles from weeks to days. If you want your models to touch real business processes at real scale, this is the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver GenAI and ML proof of value solutions for live client use cases including invoice automation, demand forecasting and intelligent service desk applications
- Take solutions from prototype to production on Azure, AWS, GCP or SAP BTP, hitting agreed targets for latency, uptime and cost
- Build RAG and agentic workflows over ERP data with a documented evaluation framework covering accuracy, hallucination rates and human review
- Stand up MLOps and LLMOps pipelines including CI/CD, monitoring, drift detection and prompt versioning
- Embed responsible AI controls including data privacy, audit logging and guardrails to pass client compliance reviews
- Turn delivery work into reusable accelerators adopted across multiple client engagements
- Translate technical results into clear business outcomes for client stakeholders
What You'll Need
Essential:
- 3 or more years building and deploying ML or LLM solutions in production using Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, LangChain, LlamaIndex or Semantic Kernel
- Hands-on RAG experience including embeddings, vector databases and a clear approach to measuring quality
- Cloud deployment experience with Docker, Kubernetes and automated CI/CD
- Experience integrating AI with enterprise systems through APIs and data pipelines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
- UK work authorisation
Desirable:
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP or Oracle platforms
- Experience with Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex AI
- Familiarity with responsible AI frameworks including data privacy and compliance controls
Why Apply?
- Salary of £80,000 to £100,000
- Work on production AI touching the core processes of some of the world's largest organisations
- Huge variety across sectors from one seat, with deep SAP and hyperscaler partnerships
- Funded certification budget and a clear path to AI Architect or practice leadership
- Hybrid working with the stability of an established firm and the energy of a fast-growing AI practice
