The Role
A hands-on Senior Data Engineer position embedded within a cross-functional innovation team, working alongside analysts, product owners and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions. You will design and maintain production data pipelines, build full-stack data applications, integrate third-party platforms and support the development of generative AI tools. This role suits someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly with non-technical stakeholders and has a genuine interest in how technology can transform professional services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain production-grade ETL and ELT pipelines from internal and external sources including APIs and structured and unstructured data repositories
- Develop full-stack applications and data-intensive tools that support internal workflows, client-facing operations and wider business functions
- Integrate third-party platforms and data sources via REST APIs to support reporting, automation and application development
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions that deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders and senior leadership
- Deploy and monitor scheduled jobs and automated workflows, ensuring reliability, performance and timely alerting
- Support the development and deployment of generative AI tools, including data infrastructure and application components that power AI-driven workflows
- Identify opportunities to improve existing data processes through automation and better engineering practices
- Document solutions, data models and development standards to support maintainability and knowledge sharing
- Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, using Jira to manage and track workload
What You'll Need
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience developing and deploying data engineering or software development solutions in Python
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production data pipelines across multiple source types
- Experience integrating data sources and third-party platforms via REST APIs
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database design and development
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under deadlines
- Clear communicator, comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- UK work authorisation
Desirable:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Familiarity with full-stack application development
- Experience working with generative AI tools, large language models or AI-assisted development workflows
- Experience in a professional services environment
