.NET Software Engineer (AWS)
A hands-on engineering role building and supporting .NET services on AWS for a trading platform, hybrid in Belfast, paying £65,000 to £85,000.
About the Company
Our client is a global technology consultancy that places engineering teams with major financial services and trading clients. They are growing their Belfast practice to support an energy trading platform, and are hiring .NET engineers at more than one level to build, run and improve the services behind it.
The Role
You will work on .NET services running in AWS, either building new functionality or keeping existing services healthy in production, depending on where your strengths lie. Some engineers will lean towards trading connectivity and market data, others towards the reliability, deployment and day to day running of the platform. Either way you will be close to a live, business-critical system and the people who depend on it.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain backend services in C# and .NET.
- Deploy and run services on AWS, including containerised workloads.
- Support production systems, investigating issues and driving them to root cause.
- Work on trading connectivity and market data integrations where your experience allows.
- Improve the reliability, performance and observability of existing services.
- Contribute to code reviews, design discussions and engineering standards.
- Work closely with other engineers, support teams and the client’s stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
- Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET is essential, and the single most important thing we are looking for.
- Hands-on experience deploying or running applications on AWS.
- Experience supporting software in production and debugging live issues.
- Clear communication and the confidence to work directly with client stakeholders.
- Experience with Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS, is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of the FIX protocol is a strong advantage.
- Experience with exchange interfaces such as Eurex EMDI or ETI is desirable.
- Experience in financial services, trading or market data systems is desirable.
Why Apply?
- Work on a live trading platform where your work has a visible impact.
- Hybrid working from a brand new Belfast city centre office.
- Salary of £65,000 to £85,000, depending on experience.
- Openings at more than one level, so both experienced and more senior engineers are considered.
- Room to grow into trading connectivity or platform reliability, whichever suits you.
- Backing of a large, established consultancy with a growing Belfast team.
