Ocho People | Technology Recruitment
• Senior engineering role at a Series B KYC and compliance intelligence platform backed by institutional investment
• TypeScript, Node.js, React, MongoDB and AWS across a genuinely complex, data-rich product
• End to end ownership from architecture decisions through to production deployment
• Hybrid or fully remote within Northern Ireland
• Salary up to £80,000 plus equity participation
Why This Organisation
Series B. Institutional backing. A genuinely hard problem. And a small, high calibre engineering team that gives you real ownership rather than a slice of someone else's roadmap.
Our client is building an intelligent KYC and enhanced due diligence platform used by financial institutions and compliance focused organisations worldwide. They operate in a high stakes, regulated domain, combining entity resolution, risk analysis and real time screening into a sophisticated data intelligence product. This is not a company bolting compliance onto an existing platform as an afterthought. It is a company for whom data integrity, audit trails and regulatory rigour are the product.
The team is lean and the engineering calibre is high. Every engineer here has end to end ownership of meaningful work. Architectural decisions you make today will still be running in production at scale tomorrow. If you have ever wanted to work somewhere where your judgement is trusted and your contributions genuinely shape the direction of a product, this is that place.
On top of a salary up to £80,000, there is equity participation at Series B — a company with a strong growth trajectory and institutional investment behind it. Hybrid or fully remote within Northern Ireland, with a competitive benefits package.
The Role and What It Can Do For Your Career
This is a Senior Software Engineer position spanning backend and frontend, with a natural lean towards the API and service layer. You will own features end to end, from early architecture decisions through to production deployment, working directly on the core platform alongside a small engineering team that moves quickly and expects engineers who can operate independently, challenge assumptions and raise the quality bar without being asked.
The career value here is significant and specific. You will be working in a regulated, compliance driven domain where data integrity is non-negotiable, that depth of experience in fintech and regtech is increasingly valuable and not easy to come by. You will also be contributing to architectural decisions at a company that is still early enough for your input to matter at the foundational level. The engineers who join now will have shaped this platform when it is operating at ten times the current scale.
The tech is modern and well considered. TypeScript and Node.js with Fastify on the backend, React on the frontend, MongoDB across complex relationship rich datasets, AWS including SNS, SQS, EKS and Lambda, containerised deployments with Docker, Helm and ArgoCD, and testing across Vitest, Playwright and CI and CD pipelines.
What you will need:
• 5 or more years of commercial software engineering experience
• Strong, production grade TypeScript and Node.js skills
• Experience designing and building REST APIs, Fastify experience is a genuine advantage
• MongoDB or equivalent document database experience
• AWS experience across core services including SNS, SQS, Lambda and EKS
• Comfortable with Docker and containerised deployment workflows
• Experience writing automated tests and owning quality within a CI and CD pipeline
• Right to work in the UK
