Network Engineer Belfast | Hybrid
Our legal client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure Services team. This is a key role focused on designing, supporting and securing their network estate, with strong scope to develop your skills across cloud networking as the role evolves.
You will work closely with infrastructure, development and security teams to deliver secure, high-availability network solutions across on-prem and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain core network infrastructure
- Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
- Manage vulnerability remediation, patching and proactive monitoring
- Ensure strong security controls aligned to CIS / ISO27001 standards
- Provide 3rd line support and liaise with vendors where required
- Support cloud networking components including VNETs, NSGs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, WAF, Azure Front Door and Application Gateway (full training and support provided if you are new to Azure)
Required Experience
- Several years' experience in a similar Network Engineering role
- Strong working knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
- Solid understanding of network security best practice
- Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and SD-WAN technologies
- Experience managing vulnerability and cybersecurity tooling
- Understanding of ITIL processes
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Hands-on Azure or other cloud platform experience
- CIS / ISO27001 exposure
