Senior DevOps Engineer (GCP)

Ocho are exclusively working with a growing tech consultancy in Northern Ireland to find a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their platform team.

This is a hands on role designing, building and maintaining scalable, secure DevOps solutions across client engagements and the company's own products. You'll be at the centre of their development and deployment processes, helping drive reliability, security and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining scalable, reliable DevOps solutions for cloud based infrastructure, with GCP as the primary platform
  • Working closely with cross functional teams to design and deliver effective CI/CD pipelines
  • Managing and enhancing cloud infrastructure, including serverless and event driven services
  • Using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to automate deployment and configuration
  • Maintaining version control and workflows using GitHub
  • Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure, deployment and configuration issues
  • Implementing security best practice and ensuring compliance across the DevOps lifecycle
  • Keeping an eye on emerging tools and trends, and recommending improvements

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on GCP. AWS and/or Azure experience is a bonus, not a requirement
  • Solid experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery
  • Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Strong scripting skills, for example Python, Shell or PowerShell
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing principles, architecture and best practice
  • Proficiency with GitHub for version control and collaboration

Nice to have

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Cloud certifications (GCP, AWS or Azure)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk or DataDog
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures
