About the Company

Our client is a global markets infrastructure and financial services business, providing trading, technology and data solutions to institutions worldwide. With a substantial international footprint and decades of expertise in financial markets, the business is investing heavily in its technology estate, including a major upgrade of its core trading platform. It is a stable, well regarded employer with a strong track record of developing engineers technically and supporting career progression.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to join a senior engineering team at the centre of a major trading platform upgrade, working with modern .NET technologies and cloud infrastructure. You will operate with real autonomy, contributing to architecture decisions alongside experienced engineers and stakeholders across the business. The role suits a developer who enjoys solving complex problems in high performance, low latency systems and wants genuine exposure to AWS as the platform modernises. You will collaborate closely with fellow senior developers, architects and product teams to deliver a platform used across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

Lead development of core components within the trading platform upgrade programme

Design and build scalable, high performance services using C#, .NET Core and SQL Server

Architect microservices that support real time trading workflows

Drive adoption of AWS services as part of the platform's cloud migration

Mentor junior and mid level developers across the team

Collaborate with architects to define technical standards and best practice

Review code and champion quality across the development lifecycle

Partner with QA and DevOps to improve deployment pipelines and system reliability

Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues within trading systems

Contribute to sprint planning and technical roadmap discussions

What You'll Need

Essential:

5+ years of professional .NET development experience

Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET Core

Solid experience with SQL Server and relational database design

Experience building and maintaining microservices architectures

Based in or able to commute to Belfast for hybrid working, three days per week in the office

Desirable / Nice to Have:

Exposure to AWS or another major cloud platform

Experience within trading, exchange or financial markets technology

       Interest in pursuing AWS certifications

Why Apply?

Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience

Hybrid working, three days per week in the Belfast office

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Pension contribution and annual bonus scheme

Direct exposure to AWS, with the business actively supporting AWS certifications

Join a genuinely large scale trading platform upgrade, not routine maintenance work

Work alongside experienced engineers in a senior, high trust team

Clear path for technical growth within a stable, global business
