About the Company
Our client is a globally established financial services business operating at the intersection of markets, data, and technology. With a significant international footprint and a reputation built over decades, they provide critical infrastructure to some of the world's largest financial institutions. Their engineering teams work on platforms that handle real market activity at scale, and they are investing seriously in the technology and people needed to stay ahead.
The Role
You will join a cross-functional engineering team building business-critical software for both internal broking operations and external clients. This is a high-impact position where you will take real ownership of front-end deliverables, from design through to production, and contribute to technical direction alongside Solution Architects and Principal Engineers. Working in an Agile environment with a culture that values experimentation and knowledge sharing, this role suits a senior engineer who wants meaningful work on platforms that underpin global financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable front-end solutions in alignment with the broader IT strategy
• Own engineering deliverables end-to-end, ensuring quality, usability, and adherence to best practices
• Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and Principal Engineers to shape technical direction
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence
• Build and maintain automated test suites covering end-to-end, integration, and regression scenarios
• Drive continuous improvement through exploration of new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies
• Communicate progress clearly and raise blockers early to protect delivery timelines
• Contribute across the full SDLC, from design and development through QA and post-release support
What You'll Need
Essential:
• 5+ years of commercial experience building modern web interfaces with React, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Strong command of HTML5, React 16+, TypeScript 4+, JavaScript ES6, and JSX
• Proven ability to deliver consistent, high-quality UX across browsers
• Hands-on experience with automated testing using Cypress, Selenium, or similar tooling
• Experience with component libraries such as Material UI or Ant Design
• Proficiency with build tools including Webpack or Vite
• Understanding of web performance optimisation and security best practices
Desirable:
• Familiarity with Figma and Storybook for design collaboration and component development
• Exposure to financial or trading platforms
• Experience with AWS, C#, or relational databases
Why Apply?
• Up to £65,000 base salary
• Hybrid working from Belfast within a large, globally established organisation
• Work on software that powers real financial markets, not internal tooling or greenfield prototypes
• Genuine technical influence alongside Principal Engineers and Solution Architects
• A culture that invests in knowledge sharing, experimentation, and continuous learning
• Mentorship opportunities and a clear path for senior progression
• Inclusive, people-first environment with active employee networks and D&I commitment
