Senior Software Engineer (Front-End / UX)
At-a-Glance
• Senior-level, full-stack engineering role with a strong front-end and UX remit
• Stack: Blazor, C#, .NET, Azure, SQL
• Fully remote
• Salary: £80,000–85,000
• A rare chance to become the right hand to one of the best front-end minds in the business
About the Company
Our client is a well-established, product-led software business operating in the accounting, payroll, and practice management space. Their products are used by thousands of businesses across Ireland and the UK, and they have built a strong reputation for both technical quality and customer focus. They are a scaling SaaS organisation with an engineering-led culture that takes design and user experience seriously.
The Role
This is a hands-on engineering role where a flair for design is as important as what you can build. You will work closely alongside the company’s front-end lead... a highly respected engineer who has shaped the product from the ground up and whose eye for UX sets the standard across the business. Over time, this is a role where you become their right hand: absorbing how they think, learning the product inside out, and gradually taking on more ownership of front-end and UX direction. For the right person, this is a genuine career-defining opportunity. You will own features end to end, from database to interface, and make considered decisions about how things should look and behave, not just how they should function.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and ship production Blazor applications, owning features from interaction design through to deployment
• Drive front-end standards, component libraries, and design conventions the wider team can rely on
• Make and defend design decisions, balancing usability, accessibility, and engineering pragmatism
• Partner with the front-end lead on architectural direction for the user interface, with a view to taking on greater ownership over time
• Contribute to back-end work where required, including data access, APIs, and cloud integrations
• Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing to support reliable delivery
• Mentor engineers on front-end and UX, raising the team’s collective capability
• Identify and act on opportunities to improve development practices, tooling, and code health
What You’ll Need
Essential:
• Commercial experience building web applications with C# and .NET
• Production Blazor experience, or strong equivalent in a component-based framework (React, Vue, or Angular)
• A genuine flair for design and UX, with work you can point to that shows it... layout, hierarchy, spacing, and interaction are part of how you think, not an afterthought
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Azure and CI/CD practices
• An open, curious attitude towards AI tools and how they can improve the way you work
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable / Nice to Have:
• Familiarity with Figma or Sketch and experience working directly from designs
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards
• B2B SaaS background, ideally in a domain-specific product
Why Apply?
• £80,000–85,000 salary
• Fully remote working
• Work directly alongside one of the best front-end minds in the business and absorb years of hard-won product knowledge
• A clear and genuine path to owning front-end and UX direction as the business scales
• Work on products used by thousands of businesses every day
• Collaborative, engineering-led culture where quality and design craft are genuinely valued
