About the Company
Our client operates in the cloud security space, building intelligent systems that protect organisations at scale. They are investing heavily in applied AI, not as an experiment, but as a core part of their product and platform strategy. The engineering culture is technically rigorous, cross-functional and genuinely collaborative, with AI, security and engineering teams working in close alignment. This is a high-impact environment where the work you do shapes both the product and the platform that powers it.
The Role
You'll work across the full lifecycle of AI-driven systems, from platform infrastructure through to production features. Day to day, you'll build autonomous systems that automate complex security workflows end to end, develop and ship AI-driven features into live production environments, and contribute to an internal AI platform designed for scalable, reusable model deployment. You'll work on adaptive models that learn and evolve from real customer environments, develop systems that correlate data across multiple sources to quantify and surface risk, and contribute to AI-driven threat detection capabilities, collaborating closely with engineering, research and security teams.
Your Impact
This is a role with meaningful reach. The systems you build will directly influence how security threats are detected, triaged and resolved, at scale, in real environments. You'll help shape the internal AI platform that other engineers build on, and your contributions to adaptive modelling and risk quantification will have lasting product impact. In a domain where the stakes are high, the engineering needs to match, and you'll be central to making that happen.
What You'll Need
Essential:
• 4+ years of commercial software engineering experience
• 2+ years of dedicated AI or machine learning engineering experience
• Strong programming skills in Go or Java
• Hands-on experience working with LLMs and modern AI frameworks
• Experience building or contributing to ML platforms or internal AI tooling
• Demonstrated ability to work across complex, multi-source data environments
Desirable / Nice to Have:
• Experience in a security, threat intelligence or data-intensive product domain
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and model lifecycle management
• Exposure to autonomous agents, agentic workflows or tool-use patterns with LLMs
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• A track record of shipping AI features into high-reliability production systems
Why Apply?
• Circa £80,000 to £120,000, dependent on experience
• Work at the forefront of applied AI in a genuinely complex, high-stakes domain
• High-impact role with direct influence over intelligent systems and platform direction
• Collaborative environment spanning AI, engineering, research and security
• Hybrid working with a Belfast-based team
• Real technical challenges with real-world consequences, not toy problems
