Finance Administrator

Location: Belfast
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are currently working on behalf of a trusted client who is seeking a proactive and organised Finance Administrator to join our finance team in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and financial skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day administrative support to the finance function, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and processes run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments

  • Raising sales invoices and allocating customer receipts

  • Reconciling bank accounts and supplier statements

  • Assisting with credit control and following up on outstanding payments

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems

  • Processing employee expenses

  • Supporting payroll administration where required

  • Assisting with month-end procedures and financial reporting

  • Responding to supplier and customer account queries

  • Preparing reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel

  • Providing general administrative support to the finance department

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role

  • Good numerical skills and excellent attention to detail

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar (desirable)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Desirable

  • AAT qualification or studying towards an accounting qualification

  • Experience working within a busy finance department

  • Knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations
