Modern Workplace Engineer

Job description.

Our client, a leading fintech and global provider of market infrastructure, is hiring a Modern Workplace Engineer to join their corporate end user desktop team. Operating across more than 60 offices in 27 countries, they connect clients to global financial and commodities markets through innovative liquidity, trading and data solutions.

The Role

You'll deliver engineering solutions for the corporate desktop platform, supporting and maintaining the underlying infrastructure alongside the wider engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware standards: define, test and certify end user hardware in line with business requirements.
  • Modern deployment: support the transition from SCCM to Intune and Patch My PC, streamlining packaging and updates.
  • Windows 11: contribute to the global rollout of the corporate build, including testing, documentation and regional coordination.
  • Application lifecycle: package, test and deploy third-party and internal applications across the estate.
  • Compliance and security: monitor patch compliance, remediate vulnerabilities and enforce configuration baselines.
  • Documentation and improvement: maintain engineering documentation and runbooks, and evaluate emerging technologies to shape the digital workplace strategy.

Essential Experience

  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Intune, SCCM and Patch My PC.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, including upgrade strategies, image creation and policy enforcement.
  • Experience packaging, testing and deploying third-party and custom applications.

Desirable

  • Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Endpoint Manager.
  • PowerShell or similar scripting for automation.
  • Citrix, Amazon Workspaces or Windows 365 Cloud PC.
  • Microsoft Defender, Log Analytics or Endpoint Analytics.
  • Application packaging tools such as InstallShield and App-V sequencing.
