Senior Fullstack Developer (Python)

Job description.

Full Stack Python Developer

Join during an exciting period of expansion, where your contribution will help influence the future direction of the platform and wider engineering team.

Belfast (Hybrid)

Permanent

The Opportunity

A leading organisation experiencing significant growth across Northern Ireland and the UK, with major investment underway across several large-scale, long-term technology initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Full Stack Python Developer to become part of a team delivering high-impact systems, ranging from backend services and internal platforms to customer-facing applications and third-party integrations.

You'll be joining at an exciting stage, with a strong pipeline of projects extending through to 2028, offering genuine ownership, technical variety, and exposure to a modern and evolving technology environment.

The Role

This position goes beyond a narrowly focused development role and would suit someone who enjoys tackling technical challenges across the full stack.

You will be:

  • Developing scalable web applications using Python and/or TypeScript
  • Working across backend systems, APIs, and internal platforms
  • Supporting solution design from initial user stories through to deployment
  • Collaborating closely with business analysts and product stakeholders
  • Enhancing and maintaining cloud-based applications and services
  • Gaining exposure to technologies such as React, serverless architectures, and integrations
  • Contributing to large-scale projects with significant business impact and high volumes of requirements
  • What You'll Bring
  • Strong commercial experience with Python (Django, FastAPI, or similar frameworks) and TypeScript
  • Experience designing and building web applications and RESTful APIs
  • Ability to work from high-level requirements through to technical delivery
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to create scalable, practical solutions
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

Why This Role?

  • Opportunity to work on large, long-term projects with real scale and complexity
  • Join an expanding engineering function with strong investment and support
  • Exposure to a broad technology stack rather than being limited to one area
  • Chance to step into a senior-level position with real ownership and influence
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements once established within the role

Package

  • Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
  • Hybrid working (Belfast preferred initially), with remote flexibility available
  • Strong long-term career progression opportunities
  • Excellent team culture and working environment

Why Apply?

This role would suit someone who:

  • Is currently operating at strong mid-level or emerging senior level
  • Wants increased ownership and broader technical exposure
  • Enjoys learning new technologies and solving varied technical challenges
  • Wants to join a scaling organisation with significant investment and a clear roadmap
