The Role
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a busy and collaborative finance team. You will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process and play a key role in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. Whether you are part-qualified and looking to grow into the role or fully qualified and ready to hit the ground running, this is a position that offers genuine scope and responsibility from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts to tight deadlines
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process
- Post journals and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
- Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
- Produce financial reports and commentary for senior stakeholders
- Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function
- Work closely with budget holders across the business to provide financial insight
What You'll Need
Essential:
- Solid experience in a management accounts or similar finance role
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software
- Ability to work to month-end deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Commercially minded with strong analytical skills
- Confident communicator — able to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Nice to Have:
- Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Experience with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar
- Exposure to budgeting and forecasting in a commercial environment
